Setting the Course with O&M 2024

January set the tone for an extraordinary year with our Officers and Management (O&M) meeting, which was held on January 6. This annual tradition, where every department shares its strategic planning and lays out a roadmap for success, brought them together to align on goals and aspirations for 2024.

Little did we know that the seeds sown in this meeting would lead to some of our biggest successes—surpassing targets, forging new partnerships, and achieving milestones that brought us a deep sense of fulfillment.

Accolades That Define Us

Every award we earned this year was a reflection of the hard work and dedication of the Venus family:

• Getting the Great Place to Work (GPTW) Certification for the third time in a row (6 times in total) reaffirmed that Venus is not just a workplace but a community where every individual thrives.
• The Excellence in Governance & Statutory Compliance Award, presented by the PHD Chamber of Commerce, was a proud moment for our Regulatory Commission Committee. Competing against 40 industry leaders, we stood tall, showcasing our commitment to the highest standards.
• Annual Partners Forum 2024 in New Delhi was an excellent platform for showcasing our dedication to employee growth through the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) scheme.

Expanding Our Global Footprint

2024 was a banner year for our regulatory advancements and global collaborations as well:

• We added over 200 Marketing Authorizations (MAs), crossing the 1,000-MA mark and solidifying our presence across continents.
• Our manufacturing prowess was recognized with 8 additional GMP certifications this year, bringing our total to an impressive 30+.
• Along with this, our participation in CPhI Milan and Arab Health further reaffirmed Venus as a global leader. These events provided platforms to showcase our innovations, connect with industry leaders, and explore new pathways for growth and collaboration.

In partnerships, we joined hands with UNICEF, PAHO, and AMR Vivli, amplifying our global impact in addressing antimicrobial resistance (AMR).

• In June 2024, Venus Remedies secured a tender from UNICEF to supply ceftriaxone, a broad-spectrum antibiotic crucial in treating serious bacterial infections.
• Simultaneously, we were awarded an oncology tender by the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), enabling us to supply critical cancer treatment drugs across Latin America.
• Furthermore, our membership in AMR Vivli reflects our dedication to combating antimicrobial resistance through data sharing and collaboration.

Awareness, Training, and Knowledge Sharing

Awareness and education remained at the forefront:

• During National Pharmacovigilance Week, we conducted training sessions to ensure our teams were equipped with the latest in pharmacovigilance.
• As part of World Antimicrobial Awareness Week (WAAW), we engaged both employees and doctors with interactive sessions and impactful videos, championing the fight against AMR.

These efforts strengthened our resolve to be leaders in creating a healthier, safer world.

Community at the Core: CSR Initiatives

Our commitment to the community grew stronger in 2024:

• We marked the first anniversary of our Education Grant-In-Aid policy, celebrating the opportunities we’ve been able to provide for the children of our dedicated employees, giving them a chance at a brighter future.
• At our adopted government school in Sector 19, Panchkula, we continued our efforts to improve the learning environment. From upgrading infrastructure to providing essentials like sweaters and shoes along with Sterloc for winter wellness, we focused on making a real difference. Installing water coolers and improving sanitation facilities were just a few of the steps we took to ensure these students had a better place to learn and grow.
• We also hosted four IndiaSterlocked events this year, where we raised awareness about sanitation and health. We also aimed to empower young girls and women by opening up conversations about menstruation and providing essential information on maintaining healthy menstruation habits.
• Also, As part of the Cauvery Calling initiative, we planted over 60,000 trees this year, contributing to a greener future. Our ongoing commitment to environmental sustainability continues to grow with every sapling we plant.

Prioritizing Health and Wellness

This year, we made well-being a top priority with several initiatives that brought our community together:

• On Father’s Day, we hosted a special seminar by a specialised doctor followed by a health check-up event to encourage fathers to take charge of their health. We offered them the knowledge to prioritize self-care in their busy lives.
• We also partnered with the Spherule Foundation to launch an Infertility Awareness Program in Pune as part of our UMMID campaign, working to break the myths surrounding infertility in rural areas and educating them on available treatments.
• In addition to these, we organized multiple general health check-up camps throughout the year, reinforcing the importance of self-care and proactive health management.

Pioneering Research and Scientific Excellence

2024 was a landmark year for the Venus Medicine Research Centre (VMRC):

• Our research on antimicrobial resistance earned accolades at the Elite Global AMR Conference in Portugal. Two of our studies were showcased on the ESCMID YouTube channel, highlighting the groundbreaking work of our team.
• At conferences like Gujarat Criticon 2024 and Raj Criticon 2024, we engaged with KOLs and showcased innovative products such as Velimixin, Vecaz, and Cloti-Xa.

These achievements underscored our commitment to advancing science and improving patient outcomes.

Celebrating Culture and Diversity

This year, Venus placed a major focus on celebrating the women who make our workplace special:

• Teej was filled with joy as we treated our amazing women to traditional sweets, fun games, and thoughtful surprises. Diwali brightened the office with festive decorations, a special puja, and Diwali hampers, spreading warmth and joy to everyone.
• For Women’s Day, we celebrated the incredible women at Venus by giving them personalized hand-written notes and flowers, acknowledging their invaluable contributions.
• We also took a moment this International Day of Women in Science to honor the achievements of our women at VMRC, who continue to drive Venus’s success with their dedication and expertise.

Beyond our women-focused celebrations, we also came together to celebrate the joy and spirit of festivals like Lohri, Holi, Diwali, Janmashtami, etc. The office came alive with vibrant decorations, heartfelt pujas, and thoughtful hampers that added a personal touch to the festivities.

New Initiatives

2024 saw the launch of some special endeavors, one of which was 'The V Talk, a debate show offering a platform for knowledge-sharing and inspiration. It became a space for our experts at Venus to share valuable insights on a variety of topics. Each episode explores something new, sparking fresh ideas and helping us learn from each other.

'Vendor Voices’ was created to strengthen our relationships with vendors. It gives them a chance to share their stories, challenges, and successes, allowing us to build trust and work together toward mutual growth.

Celebrating Growth and Learning

We had the pleasure of hosting student groups from various institutions like Agra Public College of Higher Education and Research, KR Mangalam University College of Pharmacy, and Sachdeva College of Pharmacy Mohali to our Baddi Unit, giving them a closer look at our work and the pharmaceutical industry. These visits sparked inspiration and allowed us to connect with the next generation of professionals.

Our Quality Week at Baddi was another highlight, where the entire team came together to celebrate and reinforce our commitment to excellence. Activities like the Rapid Fire Quiz brought departments together, creating an atmosphere of fun while emphasizing the importance of quality in everything we do.

It was a year of reflection, learning, and continued collaboration, setting a strong foundation for the future.

Investing in Our People: The Graduation Ceremony

Our people are our strength, and this year, we went the extra mile to empower them.

This year, Venus celebrated the remarkable achievements of 128 employees who completed their NSDC certifications which was celebrated with a heartwarming and grand Graduation Ceremony. The event was a grand celebration of their hard work and dedication, marking a milestone in their personal and professional journeys.

The day began with a warm welcome for our graduates, who were greeted during registration and received their gowns. A special breakfast was organized to kick off the day, giving graduates a chance to connect before the event began.

The ceremony followed a well-structured Code of Conduct, ensuring everything was conducted with the utmost respect and order. Our Respected Management and special guests were welcomed with bouquets and a lively bagpiper band, adding an element of grandeur to the occasion.

The festivities began with a vibrant parade featuring the band, followed by the Management, and then our graduates, all making their way to the venue auditorium. Speeches from leaders and special guests filled the air with inspiration, and each graduate was called up for certificate distribution, set to light ceremony music.

Next, everyone came together to sing the Venus song, a unifying moment for the entire team. The celebration continued with a grand march across the entire campus, where both Management and graduates proudly walked together. This was followed by group photography and a fun, classic cap toss video.

As a token of appreciation, the Management was presented with personalized mementos to acknowledge their valuable presence and support. The day concluded with a celebratory lunch, closing out a memorable and inspiring ceremony that highlighted our commitment to investing in our people and their growth at Venus.

Looking Ahead

2024 has been a year filled with growth, challenges, and unforgettable achievements. Looking back, we have so much to be proud of. But the real excitement lies in the future. With Mission 2025 almost within reach, we are on the brink of accomplishing something truly remarkable—something we’ve worked tirelessly toward over the past few years. The momentum is building, and as we embrace 2025, we’re ready to take on fresh challenges, reach new heights, and strengthen our company like never before.
