Venus presented preclinical study results of VRP-034 at two prominent microbiology conferences this year–
- European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ECCMID 2022)
- American Society For Microbiology (ASM) Microbe (ASM Microbe 2022)
VRP-034 is a novel formulation of polymyxin B (PMB) developed to reduce drug-associated kidney injury. The preclinical safety and efficacy study results of this formulation have earlier been presented at various microbiology conferences worldwide, like ECCMID 2020, World Microbe Forum 2021, ECCMID 2021, BSAC Infection 2021, etc.
ECCMID 2022
The 32nd edition of ECCMID took place for the very first time as a hybrid event, both online and on-site in Lisbon, Portugal, on 23 - 26 April 2022. The event witnessed open forums, educational workshops, meet-the-expert sessions, and scientific symposia, among other things.

Venus presented the poster titled “In Vitro Activity of VRP-034 Against Metallo-Beta-Lactamases Producing Gram-Negative Pathogens Responsible for Human Infections.”
he 33rd ECCMID is scheduled for 15-18 April 2023 in Copenhagen, Denmark.
ASM Microbe 2022
Also, a hybrid event, ASM Microbe 2022, was held on 9-13 June 2022 in Washington, D.C. The event focused on various critical aspects, including antimicrobial resistance, diagnostic immunology, HAIs, pediatric infections, antimicrobial agents, biofilms, organ-on-chip, protein structure prediction algorithms, etc.

Venus presented the poster titled “Polymyxin B-Associated Kidney Injury Assessment of VRP-034 in Rats Using a Panel Of Early Kidney Injury Biomarkers.”
ASM Microbe 2023 is scheduled for June 15-19, 2023, in Houston.
